Suggestion: Alternative way to access FoW and UW or other areas
I have noticed that while the PvP modes of the game are good, it still lacks a lot of things like 1vs1 competition and other new PvP modes.
One important thing to note is the method of access of the 3 regions to the Fissure of Woe and Underworld maps where guilds must win big battles in the Hall of Heroes. However, for some regions who lack the amount of players like Europe, access to FoW and UW is rare and too far in between.
My suggestion is to create an alternative method of accessing such maps or similar maps in the future through a different/alternative way of wining a competitive team battle. This mode (war of the crystals) stays true to the competitive nature of Guildwars while allowing players to access FoW/UW without the need to gain favor for their region.
Quote:
War of the Crystals
In this mode, we need to have 3 teams composed of many players (at least 24 or more per team), which could either be from 3 different guilds or randomly selected players from different regions (or if the dev decides it could be 3 teams from the 3 regions)
Each team would have their own castle, barracks and fortresses which are guarded by strong NPC guardians allied to their respective teams. The location of the castle, barracks and forts should be strategic and their pathways must cross-over to a central area. In addition, each team possesses 3 crystals (total of nine) that are located in their area (2 at the castle, 1 at the barracks) and 2 empty crystal pedestals (1 at the barracks and 1 at the fort).
The goal of the mode is to collect at least 5 crystals (to win and gain access to a special portal in their castle to a new area like FoW/UW or new areas) and place them in their team's pedestals. Each team must try to steal the crystals from the other teams. However, in addition to their player opponents, they must also face these crystal guardians at the fort (being the least defended), barracks and the castle (where most of the guardians are). The amount and placement of the Guardians should also be strategic so that players would need good skills and team work in order to penetrate these locations.
Note: The guardians can be killed but they shouldn't be soloable and they should be able to respawn maybe 5-10 minutes after being killed or there could be a timer where dead guardians will spawn every 10 minutes or so. Also the guardians of the 2 crystals of the castles should be especially powerful as well.
Lastly, if a player was able to get hold of the crystal, that player should be stripped of all positive buffs/echantments and cannot be the target of positive enchantments (healing/hex removal are ok though) and shouldn't be able to use speed-increasing spells (sprint, mist walk, charge) since he should be vulnerable while holding a crystal.
This PvP mode is good because not only will it enforce strategic planning and teamwork. The teams must also be able to successfully defend and steal (either through force or stealth) the crystals in order to win the round. Also, protecting the crystal holder is key to winning the game.

Notes:
a) This PvP mode can be made persistent like an ongoing war between 3 different teams where players can come in and out anytime so that the group won't have problems with leavers.
b) Player limit can also be increased to a big amount like 50 or more per team to make it a massive Guild war so to speak.
c) Lastly, having all 9 crystals should have a reward too, like automatically gaining favor or maybe gaining 2x faction per kill in that map.

I expect the FOW / UW Access whining to get a lot less with the addition of the new two areas next week. Why the people basically where whining about the Access Problem is that those two areas used to be the only endgame content and basically the only really challenging PVE places too.
Being excluded from it due to some flawed WAW system that encourages leaving your realm to join the allready winning realm... well that was really poor. But with the addition of the new areas - everything should be fine. Two new highend areas you can access without dependance on favor. With this happening, i expect the ToA Popularity to drop a lot.

I agree, seems that Europe gets the favor a little more often these days too, Korea doesn't have it as often as it used to. Even though America has it most of the time, it doesn't seem as unfair since Europeans no longer have to watch Korea and America battle in the HoH while it does nothing.
